Selene here is another one of my longest running projects to date. Everything from the custom sculpt, getting it casted in vinyl, rooting the hair, making the patterns for the clothing just right, to sculpting her guns and ninja stars - were all very tedious and time consuming. Thankfully, I have my friends Shane and Nenad help out with most of the sculptwork and planning. The head is a custom sculpt that's casted in vinyl (in order for her to have rooted hair). She's on a Soldier Story body with CY GIrl Revenger boots. Everything else is completely custom made from the corsets to the catsuit and the leather jacket. Her leather jacket has four wires that enable much better posing. Painting Selene's face was no easy task. I had to print out a bunch of reference photos from screen grabs and movie stills and promo pics I found on the web to try and get her eyes right. In the film, they toned down much of the hue and color plus they gave Kate Beckinsale a ton of make-up and effects. It's hard trying to get a good balance between the human version of Selene and the blood-thirsty vampire version. I ended up getting her skintone to be a pale Caucasian tone so it strikes the border between both versions of Selene. I think she turned out really well in that, with little light, she looks human and with more light, she looks more like the Death Dealer. Either way, Selene is one badass. The custom M9 Beretta has an extended supressor as seen in the first film during the subway shootout. Her ninja stars are sculpted and casted in resin and no, they don't retract. The gun clips do come out but I think they kind of jammed when painted them in that the paint thickened up the ammo clip so it doesn't slide in and out quite as easy as when the sculpt was initially done. One of these days, I'm gonna have to make her those cool Walther pistols with the tac lights and the sword she chopped what's-his-face with. Hmm, maybe a cool Vampire diorama too. We'll see. . .
