KENNIX WANG - HONG KONG SPECIAL DUTIES UNIT (SDU)

S.D.U. - Hong Kong's most feared police force. Under the Operations wing of the Royal Hong Kong Police lies the Police Tactical Unit's (PTU) highest trained anti-urban terrorist police force - the Special Duties Unit (SDU). Nicknamed "The Flying Tigers," the SDU was formed in early 1974 by a band of volunteer police officers. Today, the unit has grown to the hundreds. Made famous by Hong Kong films such as the Option Zero series and Hit Team, the SDU is one of the world's most elite police forces.

If you guys ever watch any of the Hong Kong TV series or films, you'll know why a lot of the SDU members are always in casual dress.  These guys live and breathe law enforcement.  With weapons and gear in the back of their car trunks and a pager on their belt, they are ready to go any time, anywhere.  I always thought that was something film makers thought up but after seeing several pictures from Hong Kong newspapers showing SDU officers carrying thugs out in their sweatpants and bulletproof vests, I knew it was true.

It's fun to kitbash.  What is kitbashing?  It's the art of combining different items from various premade figures to make your own "custom" figure.  So why isn't this really customizing?  Well, it arguably is.  But moving clothing and guns around isn't really customizing, you're just moving things around so I prefer to call it kitbashing.  The terms are used quite loosely in the hobby and it's quite hard to "customize" without kitbashing and vice versa.  You need both and no one has ever created a figure "from scratch."

This SDU figure is bashed quite a long time ago.  I just never had the time to shoot him and add it to the site.  You've probably figured out by now that I love to load up my figures with gear.  This SDU figure is no exception.  Most of his gear are all standard Dragon and BBI items.  His shirt is from the Pazo Art figures.  Jeans are from DML Terry and his shoes are from the Sneakers Vision 1/6 sneakers.
