. . . is a name that needs no introductions. John McTiernan's Die Hard Trilogy is one of the best action blockbusters to ever come out of Hollywood. The villians are oh so cool - you gotta love Hans and Karl. Many people don't realize this, but Die Hard is a Christmas movie. All three films take place around Christmas! The Die Hard series also shot Bruce Willis into stardom. Willis is very versatile with his acting, playing everything from super action heros to ghost hunting dramas and erotic thrillers. Despite what a lot of the crap the tabloids write about Willis, he still is one of my favorite stars. This McClane figure is yet another one of my earlier batch of custom figures. There was a point in time where I went crazy and bought almost every single head from Hero Heads and tried to see what I can come up with. McClane was in that last batch of figures. If you haven't already noticed, I own quite a few Hero Heads. The sculpts are awesome, but they do get kind of old after a while. Most of my latest figures are all existing headsculpts which I modify.
The tank top, pants and C4 explosives were purchased through Project Are. I painted the Frontline head and stuck him on a Dragon body. The MP5 and 9mm Beretta are standard Dragon weapons. The small bag is from Dragon Abby "Danger Girl" and his cigarettes and lighter (not shown) are from the Reservoir Dogs figures from Palisades Toys. I weathered him up quite a bit to match the movie, using a mix of charcoal, pastel chalk, acrylic paint, and real dirt. The mix of charcoal and pastel turned out really well. See the weathering on his feet? They look ten times better in person. My Favorite Quotes from the movie: "Come out to the coast, we'll get together, have a few laughs..."
