There are a lot of forum boards on the Internet to hang out. I've
listed the ones I frequent most from top to bottom. They're not the
only Boards, but just ones based on my experience. Some people might
have a different perspective on the Boards and that's fine, they're
just not mine. If you disagree with my view, please drop me a line
and we'll discuss.
Men With Dolls (MWD)
This is the first Internet window that I open when I log on my computer and the
last to close when I shutdown. Most, if not all, of my collective knowledge are
found through the various members from MWD's willingness to share and help. Of
the forums mentioned here, I personally find that the members on MWD are more
lighthearted and take things a lot less serious than others. Most MWD members
are a lot more friendlier and you can post any subject without getting royally
reamed. It feels more like a pub than an online forum. Also, the praises and
help offered here aren't so harsh.
One-Sixth Warriors (OSW)
OSW represents the single largest forum (in terms of member and traffic) on
the Internet for 1/6 scale hobbyists. I don't follow the forums or post
quite as often as I'd like, but that is mainly because OSW is geared towards
military figures more than anything else.
Fantasy Net
While the Board is a little newer, it is quickly
gaining momentum for its focus on fantasy figures and anything
non-military related. A lot of excellent customizers gather
here so check them out!
OSCF
OSCF is a Japanese forum introduced to me by several
of my Japanese customizing buddies. OSCF is also relatively new but it is
quickly becoming my favorite since more than several of my favorite Japanese
customizers frequent the Board like Hayashi, Binbo, Sgt. Doggy, Mt. Ville and
such.
1/6 Action Figure Board
Gilola's Board is very funny. The members get a little more silly than MWD and
the Board, overall, tends to be "anything goes." There is a collective
pool of talent at Gilola's board and many MWD members (including myself) tends
to browse on both boards at once!
Ningyoushi's Board
Ningyoushi (Japanese word for "doll master") is a retailer. This forum is
created primarily for its customers. Their focus is more towards Hong Kong
figures, so I like to check out the board for the newest Hong Kong releases.
iFigure
iFigure is Korea's version of the
Japanese OSCF and the US's OSW boards. The best of the best
customizers gather here, including Arnie, Rainman, Kojun, and many, many
other masters. Be warned though because the site is only in Korean and
you must know Korean to register on the Board. If you don't speak or
write Korean, find someone; it's well worth it. Even their worst
customizer can sculpt a head and will give most US customizers a run for
their money. |
