| SFC. NORM "HOOT" GIBSON - BLACK HAWK DOWN BATTLE OF MOGADISHU DELTA FORCE OPERATOR | |||||||||||||||

Black Hawk Down was a great movie. Almost everything about it was darn near perfect - casting, directing, character analysis, etc. were all very well done. It was an excellent depiction of the Mogadishu events. I probably don't need to comment anymore than that. But perhaps one of the things that made Black Hawk Down so darn cool was the "DBoys". Eric Bana became an overnight star after playing Hoot Gibson and it revived a large interest in war films again. Several other "based on true event" films were made after the success of Black Hawk Down. Think you can name at least one?
This was a rather easy bash to do. The head I got on eBay from MikeTek. Most of his weapons and gear are easily found through your loose parts or by getting a DML "tribute" to any of the Black Hawk Down event figures. Heck, you might even have all the parts yourself already from your loose parts bin. But still, if you want an easier way around it, buy the Toy Soldier "DBoy" set.
I think everyone has at one point or another did a Black Hawk Down figure. They're so simple to do and the gear is readily available. Apart from the headsculpt and painting it, there really isn't a whole lot of work involved. You might want to weather up his clothes, weapons, and gear, but that's about it. It's a easy piece to do and it's just so cool to see a Delta Guy armed to the teeth and shooting the hell out of your living room.
